Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Self Defense

Most fights end up on the ground it's a good idea to learn how to fight there. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will teach you how to apply leverage instead of strength to defeat stronger opponents. You will learn how to submit opponents by using joint manipulation and blood chokes chokes to incapacitate opponents. Jiu jitsu teaches you how to restrain your opponent. This can help you to defuse a fight without seriously injuring your opponent. You will also learn how to throw your opponent and take them down many different ways. Jiu jitsu also has a sports side to it. This makes it important to have an instructor who understands the difference between both.

Mental Health

Often people begin Brazilian Jiu Jitsu looking for an activity to do or somewhere to fit in. Classes can improve confidence for those who dedicate themselves. It may sound crazy but martial arts doesn't make thugs. Quite the opposite it helps individuals become more balanced. Those who practice Jiu Jitsu for Self defense or for a hobby often become more patient and less condescending to their peers. This Martial art helps become less ego driven. Like many things Jiu Jitsu is competition driven except everyone in the class is on the same team. There isn't a select few that play the game while everyone else watches. Everyone participates this helps develop team work and a better drive to help others. By helping your partner get better at something it makes it hard for you to catch them. This forces you to get better to continue catching them with the same submissions. This continuous cycle forces people to think less of themselves and more about how to help others.

Fitness

Many people have turned to Jiu Jitsu for weight loss. Unlike cross fit or cardio kickboxing the pace can be more easily controlled for the individual in a group setting.  During the average class more muscles are used in one hour than most people use all week at the gym. This helps many people lose weight and build muscle fast. Classes can involve little to extreme levels of physical activity the amount required depends on the individual. No one is given muscles or good cardio it is earned and every starts at the beginning. Put your personal best in every day and you will see more rapid results than you would think. It may seem daunting at first bet the rewards are well worth the effort.

Kids Jiu Jitsu

The hunt for  activities kids can be frustrating. There's no better choice than Jiu Jitsu. Classes will help your child learn structure and focus. One hour classes help develop strong problem solving skills as they learn to perform complex movements. Jiu jitsu requires a partner to practice this helps teach teamwork. The partnership will also help your child make friends inside and outside the gym. It will help them become more competitive and balanced through supervised sparring. Some people are looking for something to enroll their kid in outside of wrestling season Jiu Jitsu is an excellent choice. Classes will help students combine the explosiveness of wrestling with the strategy and control of Jiu jitsu. This activity is also a great release for energetic kids as it requires a good amount of physical activity this makes it great for their health as well as a good release for their frustration.
